Spring is here!
The Cutties are back up in the UO, the season opener for the Eastern Sierra was last saturday April 30th. We avoided crowds and decided to get our last days on Pyramid Lake before it heats up and the fish go deep. This year produced monster Cutthroat Trout. The Eastern Sierra has been doing well at Hot Creek, Mc Gee and the Upper O. Hatches all day for browns on the dry fly. Nymphs all working well in the riffles and pockets. Try a large attractor pattern for the spawning Cutts or a san juan and crystal egg tandem. The local waters in so cal have been producing great numbers of browns and even a few nice rainbows. Everything is getting good water flows and runoff is blowing out a lot of the cold water creeks.
